Sign-In/Out - It is important to sign your child in and out everyday.  .

Coats - Please assign only one coat for school and make sure it has your child's name written clearly in it. (Children do not always remember which coat they have worn to school that day and neither do the teacher's.)

Shoes - NO OPEN TOED SHOES.  If in doubt, wear sneakers.

Lunches - Paper bags are requested so they can go in the fridge.  Name and date are required to be written on the bags. If you bring a lunch bag other than a brown bag make sure that there is an ice pack in it.Sorry, but these bags are too big to go in the fridge.

Full time students will need bedding for nap time.  Bed rolls are the easiest  or please provide a crib sheet and a blanket.  Please place all bed items in a plastic bag labeled with your child's name.  PLEASE NO SLEEPING BAGS.

Saying good-byePlease get your good-bye hugs and kisses in the lobby. Be sure to tell your little one you will see them later.  There will be a teacher in the classroom to greet your child.   We urge all parents to end cell phone calls prior to coming in the school.  Your child should be the sole focus when wishing them a good day and saying good-bye.  It is equally as important as greeting them when you pick them up at the end of their school day without the cell phone to provide a distraction.  So be courteous and place your calls on hold.

Please be on time for school. School officially starts at 8:00am.

If you arrive after 8:30 am please be as inobtrusive as possible.  Respect that the children are already in the "work cycle" and should be disturbed as little as possible.

Picking-up your child  Please refrain from calling out from the classroom door for your child as this is extremely disruptive to all other student's and teacher's. A teacher will get your child from his/her activity.  If we are outside, please go to the nearest outside door or gate and attract a teacher's attention.

Events - Always check lobby clipboards and/or the website for current and upcoming events.

Labels - Please make sure all items are clearly labeled for easy return.  We apologize that we can not be in charge of all personal items that your child brings to school especially if they are not labeled with your child's name. Please know that all unclaimed items left for more than one month will be donated to the Salvation Army. Any lost and found items are placed on the green board

Lobby - Be mindful of others when coming and going.  The lobby is still part of the school environment and should remain quiet and calm.

Parking Lot - You must  park and bring your child into the school.  GO SLOWLY when driving and look for children!

Notify the School

  • If your child has any kind of food allergy.
  • If you change your home/business/cell phone number, or change the emergency contact person and/or their phone numbers. You must give the new information to the school that day.  The teachers must have a number where you can be reached at all times for emergency purposes.
  • If your child or immediate family member has an infectious condition (i.e. strep throat) please let the school know.
  • If you have a change in your family life.  A parent is away for long/short trips.  The Family has a new baby.  There is a death of a family member or pet.  Parents separate or divorce.

These types of upheavals can cause your child to act quite differently in school.

Pockets - Please check your child's pockets to see what they contain before school.  Check especially for: small "home" items, money, toys, gum, candy, etc.  Please check their pockets for unfamiliar ojects when they return home.  These may be a part of the school's equipment and must be returned to the Montessori environment.
