Meet the Teachers

T. Lisa, Teacher/Director/Owner

At MCH since 2004, prior to this she worked in another Montessori School. T. Lisa completed her Montessori Accrediation in 2004. Jenny Wright-Johnson who was the former owner of MCH II mentored T. Lisa. She has three degrees and has also earned her Navy Family Child Care Certification along with a few others certifications.

T. Kathy

T. Kathy has been with MCH for over 17 years. She is our afternoon teaching assistant. Her love of children is evident in all that she does whether it be at home or here at the school. T. Kathy has helped mentor many students as well as interns but she herself is now going through the Montessori Certification course and is almost through. She says she took the long and scenic route. Interesting fact about T. Kathy, she used to be a parole officer(15+ years) prior to joining MCH.

T. Pat

She is back and we could not be more thrilled! She left MCH for a bit to help out our sister school (which is no longer a Montessori school) and then came back to MCH two years ago. All in all she has been with us for over a decade. T. Pat earned her AMI Montessori Certification a few years back as well as her Early Childhood Education degree.

T. Christine

T. Christine is our Kindergarten Teacher. Christine earned her Montessori Certification and participated in her practicum at MCH last year as well as attending TCC to keep up on her Early Childhood credits. We are happy to have her joining us this year! Prior to being at MCH Christine worked in the public school system as a teacher with special needs children.

T. Melissa

Melissa ran her own daycare in her home for several years. She has two very active daughters that participate in many sports throughout the year. Melissa herself is extremely active, when she is not here you may see her running all over Virginia Beach, literally.

Melissa is our morning teaching assistant and keeps us all in tip top shape.

T. Megan G.

Megan is a recent college graduate from Boston's Emmanuel College where she earned her English degree with a minor in Mathematics. She is relatively new to the Virginia Beach area and we are hoping she stays put! Megan is our teaching assistant and she began working at MCH in March of '09. Megan will be working towards her Montessori Certification in the very near future.

T. Meghan S.

Meghan is our afternoon assistant. She ran her own home daycare after the birth of her baby. She will be getting married in Oct. 09!

T. Ina

T. Ina joins us this year all the way from Russia! She will be our Music teacher and morning assistant. Ina was the Directress of the music department in Russia and is eager to bring Music back to MCH. We are so excited!
